13"Patricia Barton (Nee Lester)". Text From Source: Hi Chris,
I didn't think I'd have a chance to reply to your latest email today ... but, now have a liitle free time!
I was meaning to ask you about gedcom and what you do about recording your ancestry information.
As yet, all I have is my info. stored on genes reunited and nothing physically printed out, and I now have so many branches on both parents' ancestry that physically writing them down has become a daunting nightmare.
Would you talk me through gedcom and can you suggest a framework for writing down the very sprawling list of my ancestry, there must be some way of doing it.

[As far as Cockaynes go, I have a years sub. to Ancestry.com and have most of the census printed out, so please don't go to the bother of sending them.

As for as Edward Lester and wife Ann (parents of Edward born 1811) I have come to the following conclusion.
There were 2 couples named Edward and Ann Lester producing children in Walsall in the early 1800's
these various children are listed below with our Edward's starred.
Mary c 3/11/1809 *
Edward c 6/3/11 *
Sarah 9/8/1812
Thomas (Lister) of Walsall Unitarian chapel c 11/2/1814
Sarah c28/9/1815 ?*
William c 25/12/1819?*

then
Elizabeth Bloxwich RC 1/4/1822
Harriet Bloxwich RC 9/3/1824
Lucy Bloxwich RC 2/3/1826

since our Lesters were all christened at St. Matthews it seems a reasonable concusion that Edward and Ann, their parents were C of E.
Now: Burials
Edward Lesters buried in the first 40 years on the 19th. century are:
buried 16/12/1820 Edward Lester of Workhouse aged 35, at Walsall St Matthew
buried 16/8/1826 Edward Lester 46, Walsall RC church
buried 20/8/1826 Edward Lester 46, Bank St, at Walsall St Matthew
I think it's too much of a coincidence that two edwards aged 46 were buried within days of each other and since the RC church and St. Matthews both used the same public burial ground, my bet is that the last two aged 46 are the same person and that, since he's the only positive St. Mathhews burial I think the Workhouse Edward is ours ... but I don't have any way of proving that, and given that he must have been born c1785 I can't trace his bith on the IGI. Very frustrating!
That's all for now.
Cheers
Pat]
